Our client in Miami is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join their team as an Accounting Manager. This person will support the Director of Finance and supervises a small team of accounting staff. This is a great organization that makes a significant difference in the South Florida community. The right candidate must be able to commute to Miami 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Finance and staff in all areas of fiscal administration.
  • Oversee grant receivables, track expenditures, and ensure timely journal entries and monthly financial statements.
  • Manage accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and assist with cash flow projections.
  • Guide Accountants on budget modifications to maximize grant funding.
  • Review and post daily accounting entries; support month‑end close and prepare reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, payroll allocations, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Assist with year‑end close, balance sheet analysis, and preparation of audit schedules.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and external partners.
  • Ensure confidentiality, document security, and compliance with all deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties to support efficient Finance Department operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • P&L management
  • Nonprofit and grant accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Abila MIP Fund Accounting a plus.
  • Strong accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to develop budgets, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
