We99re partnering with a well funded $1 Billion PRE-IPO company in South Florida.
This role is critical to ensuring the complete buildout and framework of the technical accounting team and what will be the External SEC Financial Reporting team.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and external reporting requirements
- Perform technical accounting research and draft position memos for new standards, complex transactions, and evolving accounting guidance
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and variance analysis
- Assist with accounting for complex transactions such as revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, equity-based compensation, and other non-routine items
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather data, assess accounting implications, and ensure proper financial presentation
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors and serve as a key point of contact during audits
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and the ongoing maintenance of accounting policies and documentation
- Contribute to the design, execution, and improvement of internal controls and SOX-aligned processes
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy, close efficiency, and scalability of accounting systems and processes
- Bachelor b7s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA required or actively in progress
- The candidate should ideally have exposure to technical memos related to debt,
ASC 480, ASC 805 (business combinations),
ASC 606 (revenue recognition), consolidations (
ASC 810
), and stock compensation (
ASC 718
) - Background in public accounting (audit) and/or technical accounting preferred
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, external reporting, and consolidations
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP-based environments preferred
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
