Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Coral Gables, FL

We are working with a client in Coral Gables, FL that is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The Sr. Accountant will serve as a key member of the accounting and finance team of a high‑growth family. This person should be strong enough to assist in the implementation of possible new accounting software and redesign the general ledger and chart of accounts.

They will contribute to financial health and integrity by ensuring accurate financial reporting, providing valuable financial analysis, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and continuously improving financial processes and controls.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support the operations team to understand their ongoing costs and budgets.
• Manage the month‑end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage twenty employee credit cards ensuring compliance with company policies and export transactions from the P‑Card system into Quick Books monthly.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting software.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations including prepaid, accrued payables, rent receivable and payroll liabilities.
• Conduct cash flow forecasting.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business initiatives and drive process improvements.
• Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
• 6‑8 years of overall experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficient in Quick Books Enterprise Desktop, , Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
