Title: Sr. Loyalty Accounting Manager
Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid)
Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: 100-140K

The Senior Manager, Loyalty Accounting works with the CFO, Controller, Director of Revenue Accounting, and other accounting personnel to ensure accurate reporting of loyalty‑related revenue, costs, and liabilities. The role collaborates with an external actuarial firm (WTW) to model and calculate key financial components—redemption rates, value per point, cost per point, program liability—supporting accurate forecasting and accounting under US GAAP.
Essential Functions- Manages a team of direct and indirect reports, including day‑to‑day oversight, professional development, and annual performance evaluation.
- Provides ongoing review and compliance of revenue recognition for the loyalty program, ensuring proper application of FASB ASC Topic 606 and general accounting principles.
- Maintains and updates underlying schedules and work papers used to determine loyalty accounting balances for period‑end reporting.
- Coordinates with co‑branding partners to manage revenue share, bounties, and point liability accrual.
- Conducts technical research related to loyalty accounting and US GAAP, assessing the impact of new pronouncements.
- Collaborates with FP&A, the Loyalty Program Team, and other departments to integrate a loyalty accounting viewpoint into planning, forecasting, and internal model maintenance.
- Owns and manages policy memos on technical accounting positions related to loyalty accounting and general accounting within Revenue Accounting.
- Provides loyalty‑related balances and disclosures to the financial reporting team for regulatory filings.
- Acts as the point‑of‑contact for external auditors regarding loyalty accounting and general accounting issues.
- Works on special and ad‑hoc projects to support the Loyalty Accounting and Revenue Accounting functions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Master's Degree in Accounting/Business Administration combined with a CPA.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- 6–8 years of public accounting experience, preferably from a “Big 4” firm focusing on audit or technical accounting consulting.
- 10 years of overall accounting experience, including public accounting and loyalty accounting.
- Ability to perform technical accounting research using the FASB Accounting Standards Codification, not solely interprative guides.
- Comprehensive understanding of FASB ASC Topic 606, especially as it applies to loyalty accounting—allocation of material rights, breakage, loyalty brand IP, sales‑based royalty scope exception, estimating SSP for loyalty points, and updating constrained variable consideration and breakage estimates.
