Overview

CGS is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team supporting our mission. This position entails coordinating and managing the e-billing and payment cycle workflow, including payment posting, charge corrections, and monthly reconciliation of payments to bank deposits for the Firm’s offices, along with other duties as assigned. Responsibilities
  • Ensures accurate observance of e-billing requirements and processes
  • Prepares monthly, semi-monthly and ad-hoc billing reports for internal and external clients
  • Ensures timely invoice submission to clients, based on established timelines
  • Creates and distributes ad hoc operational and billing reports to management as requested
  • Works with Controller and Accounting Department to identify, review and recommend changes to automate or enhance timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency of billing processes
  • Supports internal and external auditors as requested
  • Supervises e-billing and receivables staff
  • Evaluates e-billing and receivables staff skill levels, recommends any necessary training or changes
  • Provides feedback to staff performance appraisals, develops performance management objectives to address concerns, drives engagement and retention; participates in team hiring and separation decisions
  • Delegates assignments and projects to staff as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and articulate initiatives, projects, results, and analyses to senior leadership and staff, including presenting ideas clearly
  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities while delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional, collaborative team
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • Five years of legal billing/receivables experience and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and billing software; advanced experience in e-billing
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Access)
