Summary
:
Responsible for performing routine accounting duties including the reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts and accounts payable following established procedures, methods and systems. Performs other related duties as necessary.

• Completes timely and accurate reconciliations daily for various accounts, including general ledger accounts. Follows-up with user departments on outstanding items, as needed.
• Reconciles official checks, ATM and Teller cash for the retail branches on daily basis; makes adjustments as needed.
• Reconciles suspense accounts on a daily basis. Performs research and adjustments as needed.
• Updates and maintains daily statement of condition. Extracts information from core system; inputs compiled data; and verifies accuracy of report.
• Submits FR2900 report to the Federal Reserve on a quarterly basis.
• Verifies and processes invoices received for payment by the accounting department.
• Performs monthly bank account reconciliation; clears and reconciles items in a timely manner.
• Assists with departmental audits and regulatory examinations.

Education And/or Experience

Associate’s degree in Accounting; two years of previous accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a deadline intensive work environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
