Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Business Transient Sales to lead our efforts in driving revenue from individual business travelers across our collection of premier hotels in Miami. This key leadership role focuses on developing and executing strategies to attract corporate clients, negotiated contracts, and maximize occupancy and rates for corporate/consortia segments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, particularly in a vibrant market like Miami, where business travel intersects with leisure and events.

You will play a pivotal role in building relationships with corporate accounts, leveraging market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to target business transient segments, including corporate travelers, consultants, and small business groups, with a focus on increasing market share in the Miami area.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with travel agents and agencies via calls and in-person meetings.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and attending industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Negotiate and manage corporate rate agreements, RFPs, and contracts to ensure competitive pricing and high-value partnerships.
  • Analyze market data, competitor activities, and travel trends to forecast demand and adjust sales tactics accordingly, utilizing tools like revenue management systems.
  • Collaborate with hotel operations, revenue management, and marketing teams to create tailored packages and promotions that appeal to business travelers.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and account penetration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including travel management companies, corporate decision-makers, and local business associations in Miami's thriving sectors (e.g., finance, tech, and entertainment).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and legal requirements in all sales activities.
  • Stay abreast of Miami's evolving business landscape, including major events like Art Basel, conferences, and seasonal fluctuations, to capitalize on opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role focused on business transient or corporate sales.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive hospitality market, ideally in a resort or urban hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sales CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Delphi), revenue management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events (up to 25% travel).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Experience in the South Florida hospitality market, with familiarity in targeting industries like finance, pharmaceuticals, technology, and international business.
  • Profound expertise in forging alliances with travel consortia, TMCs, and key agency partners to boost transient bookings and ADR.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or other languages) to engage with diverse clientele.
  • High energy, strategic thinker with a passion for hospitality and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while adapting to changing market conditions.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses and commissions.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts at our hotels.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within our growing collection of properties.
  • A collaborative work environment in one of the world's most exciting destinations, Miami
