Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Cocktail Preparation Specialist to join the hotel’s team. An art‑deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid‑Beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean‑view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience.

Each suite is designed with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, most with deep‑soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full‑service spa, a well‑equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami.

Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.

Job Summary

Andaz Miami Beach is looking for a Cocktail Preparation Specialist who are excited, qualified, hard‑working, individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros, high volume, and extensive Cocktail Preparation Specialist are all beneficial but not required. This candidate will have a passion for exceptional hotel service and can express that belief in an atmosphere of spontaneity and authenticity.

The perfect candidate should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar.

Duties & Functions
  • Use traditional and elevated culinary techniques to consistently and accurately execute beverage recipes at high volume, for all venues in the hotel.
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
  • Prep and batch for specialty cocktails including fresh juices, syrups, infusions, and clarification.
  • Manage prep and inventory to ensure the bar is fully stocked for service.
  • Ensure beverage spaces and prep and inventory are organized and secured appropriately.
  • Work with bartender on opening and closing duties.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors.
  • Maintain a growing and working knowledge of spatiality and classic cocktails, liquors, wine and beer.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company and state safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and rotated/properly disposed of to maintain quality and safety.
  • Portray a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Provide prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests.
  • Attend and participate in all training sessions and department meetings.
  • Ensure proper serving of wine and alcohol and including understanding when and how to deny alcohol and how to deescalate.
Qualifications
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
