Principal Engineer

Professional Civil Engineer working in the planning design, construction, inspection and maintenance of a variety of public works projects and facilities.

• Responsible for the design and development of construction plans and specifications for roads,bridges, water supply systems, street lights, street parking, sanitary sewer systems, stormwatermanagementsystems,and other publicworks facilities.
• Reviews field surveys to develop information required for design and construction of public worksprojects
• Reviewsplansforpublicworks projectsforcompliancewithstandards
• Reviewsengineeringreports,basisofdesignreports,andregulatorycompliancefilings;ensuresthatreports aredetailed,methodical,andprovideclearlogicfor engineeringdesignsand decisions
• Makesrecommendationsforupgradesandimprovements tocityfacilities
• Supervisesthepreparationof இருப்புcostestimatesforpublicworksprojects
• Developsengineeringprocedures
• Supervisestheinspectionofvariouspublicworksconstructionprojects
• Performsrelatedworkasrequired
• Performsthedutiesofa Project Engineer ,when required.
• Develops maintenance of traffic plans

• Communicates clearly,concisely,andcomprehensiblyinbothwrittenandverbalformat
• Currentlyregisteredasa Professional Engineerbythe Stateof Florida
• Capable of signing and sealing engineering drawings and documents in accordance with the rules of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and Florida Statute 61G15-23

• Musthavetheuseofsensoryskillsinordertoeffectivelycommunicateandinteractwithotheremployeesand thepublicviathetelephoneandpersonalcontact
• Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, suchas, but not limited to,word processor,calculator, copier,and fax machine
• Abilitytostand,walk,move, orkneelmayberequiredtoperform duties
• Hex Physical capability to effectively use field inspection instruments including, but not limited to: cameras, levels, measuring tapes, survey tools, measuring rods, measuring wheels, and paper, bound, or electronic inspection forms/books.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, the press the general public and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation.

• Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of all city ethics and conflicts of interest policies. Strong understanding of ethical behavior is required.

• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

• Performs related work as required.

• Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential employee of the City of Miami Beach.

• Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to issues consistent with the City’s strategic plan.
