Property Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our team in Miami Beach. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely month-end close processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, knowledge of property management accounting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced real estate environment.

• Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned property portfolio.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports.
• Reconcile CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges and tenant billings (if commercial portfolio).
• Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and tenant ledgers.
• Assist with annual budgets and reforecasts.
• Support year-end audits and provide documentation to external auditors.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Coordinate with property managers regarding financial performance and operational issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3–5+ years of property accounting or real estate accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with property management software (Yardi, MRI, Real Page, etc.).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Experience with multi-entity or multi-property portfolios.
• Exposure to commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or luxury residential properties.
• CPA or CPA‑track a plus.
