We're looking for a hands-on, innovative leader to take the helm as Engineering Manager at our Stucki de Mexico location in Monterrey, MX. The role is responsible for leading manufacturing and industrial engineering activities to support safe, high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective production. This role drives operational excellence through strong technical leadership, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration. The Engineering Manager will also support production execution, continuous improvement, new product introductions, capacity planning, and cost optimization across multiple manufacturing processes.

This person is expected to balance hands-on technical expertise with leadership, project execution, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Manufacturing Support
Support achievement of plant KPIs including Safety, Delivery, Quality, Sales, and Material Inventory.
Ensure accomplishment of daily production plans and customer orders, addressing bottlenecks and past-due/backlog issues.
Support and optimize product lead times, routings, and manufacturing flows.
Drive operational efficiency and productivity improvements, targeting 100% plan attainment.
Lead inventory improvements across Raw Materials (RM), MRO, and Finished Goods (FG).
Provide engineering support to reduce waste, rework, and process variation.
Engineering Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive cost engineering and value analysis / value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives.
Support and manage engineering change requests/orders (ECR/ECO).
Apply Value Stream Mapping to identify and execute improvement opportunities.
Ensure consistent, on-time delivery of engineering commitments through realistic roadmaps and milestones.
Project & Program Management
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers using APQP stages.
Develop and manage project plans and Gantt charts, ensuring alignment with plant priorities.
Support plant layout changes and movements, optimizing material and process flow.
Administer and track capital expenditure (Cap Ex) budgets, including justification and ROI analysis.
Capacity & Strategic Planning
Develop and maintain roadmaps and capacity planning tools.
Understand and calculate installed capacity and staffing capacity to support production plans.
Use data and analytics to guide decisions—not anecdotes or assumptions.
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to align engineering strategy with business objectives.
Manufacturing Processes
Provide technical leadership and support across:

Forging
Machining
Stamping
Welding
Assembly
Heat Treatment
Painting
Coating
Fiberglass Injection
Quality & Core Tools
Ensure compliance with quality standards, including:
AAR
IATF 16949
APQP
PPAP
PFMEA
Control Plans
MSA
SPC
Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members.
Set clear priorities, expectations, and accountability.
Drive change management initiatives and foster a continuous improvement culture.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and plant leadership.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
10+ years of Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience in rail industry manufacturing or heavy industrial manufacturing (e.g., rail components, steel, foundry, machining-intensive, or large-scale fabrication environments) is acceptable.
