An international executive search firm specializing in luxury hospitality is conducting a confidential search for a General Manager to lead a boutique lifestyle resort located in Baja California, Mexico.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial General Manager with deep Food & Beverage expertise to lead operations, elevate culinary programming, and drive both profitability and brand identity.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, entrepreneurial hotelier with strong Food & Beverage expertise, capable of leading operations while elevating culinary programming, guest experience, and overall property profitability.
The property is entering a strategic repositioning phase, with a strong emphasis on experiential hospitality, culinary leadership, and revenue-driven F&B activation.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership & Operations
Full operational and financial responsibility for the hotel, including departmental P&L performance
Oversee daily operations across rooms, restaurants, bars, events, wellness, and guest services
Recruit, mentor, and lead a strong local leadership team
Implement operational systems, SOPs, and KPIs aligned with boutique hospitality standards
Food & Beverage Leadership
Oversee all culinary outlets and F&B programming across the property
Lead menu strategy, pricing, cost control, and supplier relationships
Optimize food cost, labor management, inventory control, and profitability
Develop culinary experiences aligned with regional culture and destination storytelling
Position F&B as a core revenue driver and brand differentiator
Core Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Operations
· Provide full P&L responsibility for hotel and all F&B outlets
· Lead daily operations across rooms, restaurants, bars, events, wellness, and guest services
· Build a strong local leadership team while maintaining hands-on operational presence
· Implement systems, SOPs, and KPIs appropriate for a boutique, experience-driven property
Food & Beverage Leadership (Primary Focus)
· Oversee and elevate all culinary outlets, including Italian restaurant
· Pizzeria & Sports Bar
· Drive menu development, pricing strategy, cost controls, and supplier relationships
· Lead food cost, labor optimization, inventory management, and margin improvement
· Curate culinary experiences tied to the property's heritage, wellness positioning, and Baja terroir
· Activate F&B as the primary storytelling and revenue engine of the property
Events, Groups & Destination Programming
· Develop and grow weddings, retreats, culinary events, wellness programs, and private buyouts
· Create compelling F&B-led group packages and experiential offerings
· Partner with chefs, brands, and influencers for pop-ups, residencies, and festivals
Revenue Growth & Brand Expansion
· Collaborate with ownership on repositioning strategy and new revenue streams
· Identify opportunities for branded culinary products, retail, licensing, and off-property activations
· Support future expansion initiatives (villas, casitas, wellness facilities, retail)
· Work closely with marketing to align narrative, guest experience, and commercial strategy
Guest Experience & Culture
· Uphold a warm, story-driven hospitality culture rooted in legacy, authenticity, and excellence
· Maintain high guest satisfaction scores and repeat visitation
· Foster strong relationships with the local community, vendors, and tourism partners
Ideal Candidate Profile
· 10+ years of senior hotel leadership experience, with a strong emphasis on Food & Beverage
· Proven background in boutique hotels, lifestyle resorts, or chef-driven concepts
· Strong financial acumen: food cost, labor, forecasting, and departmental P&Ls
· Hands-on, entrepreneurial operator—not a purely corporate GM
· Experience in Mexico or Latin America strongly preferred
· Bilingual Spanish / English required (Italian is a plus)
· Comfortable operating in a growth, repositioning, and expansion environment
