Job SummaryPrint Operator I is responsible for print equipment operation, maintaining print rollers and ink trays and verifying print quality of print manufacturing machine(s) that are used to produce printed cups, containers, straws and / or lids.
Responsibilities (Functions)- Performs timely checks to ensure that only quality product is manufactured.
- Maintains print roller and ink tray area along with submitting work orders to maintenance for repairs or replacement of defective equipment.
- Ensures that label printing equipment is maintained in working order.
- Prints identification labels prior to a production job begin as outlined on print order specification sheet.
- Cleans change-over parts removed during a print change and return them to the print storage area.
- Responsible for informing the leadership team immediately of any failure to meet established quality standards to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Performs all assigned quality tests to ensure the quality of the product being made (e.g., weight, length, color testing and straightness of product).
- Checks order to ensure correct printing materials are being used for scheduled job.
- Maintains an adequate supply of inks, labels, and bulk products used to facilitate production.
- Comply with all safety rules, policies, procedures and practices, including performing lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) of printing equipment when required.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Fill out labor sheets at end of shift noting production and downtime using the company computer.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Team Supervisor or Department Manager.
Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Required experience/skills: One year in a manufacturing environment, packing finished goods preferred. Read, write and speak basic English.

- Team Member will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.
- Team Member will be required to observe and assess information in a fast paced environment.
- Requires frequent use of production, manufacturing equipment and/or machinery.
- Will be required to frequently move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds with bending, twisting and reaching motions.
- May be required to remain stationary for extended periods.
- May be required to stand for long periods (up to 8, 10 or 12 hours).
- May be required to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
- Work space contains moving mechanical parts.
- Indoor manufacturing environment may be exposed to extreme heat and may not be air conditioned.
- Work environment may have loud noises and odors and may include occasional airborne particles.
- Must wear PPE at all times (e.g., hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards).
- Ability to work 8+, 10+, or 12+ hour shifts as designated.
- Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
