Cashier role at The Home Depot is a customer service position focused on fast, friendly, accurate and safe service at checkout and returns. Cashiers process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor the Self-Checkout area, seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities, and follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• As a Head Cashier, position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first level escalation for customer issues.
• Assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and utilizing tools to coach and develop other Cashiers.

• Preferred: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
