TITLE:

School Nurse Substitutes - District Wide

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Holds a license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (M.G.L. c. 71, s. 53)

* Holds or is eligible for licensure in School Nursing by the Massachusetts Department of Education.

* Holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (after 1993 DOE regulation change).

* Has a minimum of two years of supervised nursing experience in community health or child health prior to entry in school nursing practice.

* Maintains certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, AED and First Aid.

* Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for number 4.

DUTIES:
To provide professional health srvices and coordinate the resources of the school, home and community as they pertain to the toal health of students and staff.

Methuen Public Schools enrolls approximately 7000 in a total of five schools. Methuen Public Schools has four PK-8 schools: the Comprehensive Grammar School, the Marsh Grammar School, the Tenney Grammar School, the Timony Grammar School, and one comprehensive high school:

Department Chairman and Building Principal. The performance of this job will be evaluated as per the CBA Massachusetts Nurses Association Contract.

Please note that the District reserves the right to transfer all personnel among buildings on an as needed basis to serve the best interests of all students as long as this does not conflict with the Methuen Education Association (Unit

A) Contract.
