Job Summary

Pontchartrain MEP is seeking a motivated and dependable Plumbing Service Apprentice to join our service team. This position is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the plumbing trade through hands‑on training, mentorship, and a structured 4‑year apprenticeship program leading toward plumbing licensure.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, takes pride in quality work, and aligns with the Pontchartrain Promise—showing up prepared, communicating clearly, and doing things the right way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed plumbers with service calls, repairs, and installations
  • Learn proper plumbing techniques, tools, materials, and safety practices
  • Help install and repair piping, valves, fixtures, and related plumbing systems
  • Support troubleshooting and basic diagnostics under supervision

  • Load, unload, and care for tools, equipment, and materials
  • Follow company procedures, safety standards, and jobsite expectations
  • Communicate respectfully with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
Apprenticeship & Career Development

Our goal is to develop future licensed plumbers and long-term team members, not temporary helpers. Pontchartrain MEP offers a structured 4‑year plumbing apprenticeship program that provides:

  • Hands‑on, real‑world service experience under licensed professionals
  • Accumulation of required on‑the‑job hours toward plumbing licensure
  • Ongoing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Progressive responsibility, skill development, and pay advancement
Qualifications
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional attitude
  • Ability to perform physical labor (lifting, bending, kneeling, working in tight spaces)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
  • Prior plumbing or construction experience is a plus, but not required
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship
