Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven hunter-style outside salesperson who thrives on being in the field every day, actively hunting for new business. This is not a desk job or relationship-maintenance role. This is a pure new-business development position focused on driving throughout the greater New Orleans metro area and surrounding communities (including but not limited to Jefferson, St. Tammany, St.
Charles, Plaquemines, and Lafourche parishes), spotting roofing projects in progress, and closing new accounts.
The ideal candidate loves the thrill of the hunt, gets energized by finding opportunities others miss, and is comfortable with a “leave no stone unturned” daily approach. You will spend most of your time on the road, visiting job sites, contractor offices, and supply yards to build new relationships and generate new sales.
Key Responsibilities- Drive daily throughout the greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes to identify active roofing and construction job sites
- Conduct in-person cold calls and visits to roofing contractors, general contractors, home builders, property managers, and metal roofing buyers at job sites, offices, and supply yards
- Prospect relentlessly — leave no stone unturned; actively look for new construction, re-roofing projects, commercial jobs, and storm-damaged properties
- Build strong, genuine relationships with customers — become a trusted friend and advisor to roofers and contractors
- Present Metal Hero products (metal roofing panels, flashing, accessories) and demonstrate their value
- Follow up persistently to move opportunities forward and close new business
- Maintain accurate records of daily activity, leads, and pipeline in CRM
- Celebrate and get excited about every win — from new leads to closed deals
- True “hunter” mentality — highly motivated by new business development and closing deals
- High energy, resilient, and comfortable with daily rejection and persistence required in field sales
- Excited by driving extensively, spotting opportunities on job sites, and making in-person connections
- Excellent at building rapport quickly and connecting with diverse types of people (roofers, contractors, business owners, foremen, etc.)
- Self-motivated and disciplined — able to work independently without daily supervision
- Positive attitude and genuinely enjoys the process of hunting, progressing deals, and landing new customers
- Comfortable with a high-activity, high-volume approach to sales (lots of doors, lots of calls, lots of follow-up)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Proven track record in outside/field sales preferred (construction, building materials, roofing, HVAC, or similar industries is a strong plus)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to be out in the field 4–5 days per week, rain or shine
Competitive base salary + uncapped commission (strong earning potential for top performers). Exact structure will be discussed during interviews.
