American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel position requiring Epic proficiency and hands-on experience with Impella and NxStage devices.
Details- 13-week contract at a hospital ICU
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:2, which may flex to 1:3
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to all ICUs and may include the ED or PACU to care for ICU-level patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with a 1:4 ratio
- Epic EMR experience required
- Equipment includes:
Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanners
- Active LA or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Impella and NxStage experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained
- Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
- Must be prepared to care for isolation patients, including potential COVID-19 patients — candidates should know their N95 mask size
- CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for $100 if not already held
- RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have a separation of at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
