Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Epic, Impella, and CRRT/NXSTAGE expertise for critical care assignments requiring weekend shifts.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital environment
- Float to all ICUs and may be assigned to ED or PACU for ICU patient care, with occasional float to MS/PCU units
- Patient ratio typically 1:2, occasionally flexes to 1:3, and 1:4 on MS/PCU units
- Care for patients requiring advanced support including Impella and CRRT/NXSTAGE
- Day shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00–19:30
- Four weekend shifts required during each 4-week schedule
- Utilizes Epic EMR
- Equipment used includes Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis machines, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill Rom Beds, Pyxis, and Veratron Bladder Scanner
- Nurses are responsible for all laboratory draws, initiating EKGs, and starting lines
- Must be prepared to care for COVID-19 and isolation patients; knowledge of N95 mask size is expected
- Floating may include support in MS/PCU units with adjusted patient ratios
- Limited to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment
- First-time travelers may not be considered for this position
- Active LA or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- CVICU experience highly preferred
- Experience with Impella and CRRT/NXSTAGE is mandatory
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS (CPI may be obtained onsite for a fee)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
- Compliance with a 75-mile radius rule is required
- Former permanent employees at any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year for consideration
