Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Epic experience and active LA or compact RN license for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU caring for pre- and post-kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
- Assignment includes management of patients with encephalopathy, kidney injury, and esophageal tamponade
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity and transplant status
- Bedside conscious sedation is required
- Utilize equipment including Alaris IV pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius and NxStage dialysis machines, Veratron bladder scanner, and Arctic Sun TMS
- Uses Epic EMR;
Epic experience required - Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Float to all adult critical care units and may be assigned to ED, PACU, or Medical Surgical unit as needed, with a max of 4 patients in Med Surg
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule
- Holiday shifts are required
- ICU RNs manage complex transplant patients and those with acute and chronic conditions
- May be reassigned as 'helping hands' or to other units when needed
- Uniform is teal, white, or a combination; closed toe and heel shoes required, name badge must be worn at all times, and artificial/acrylic nails are not allowed
- RTO requests are capped at 5 days for consideration
- First time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Active LA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI can be obtained at facility)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Preferred certifications: OCN, CCRN
- Must comply with a 75 mile radius rule for eligibility
- Permanent employees at any LCMC facility must be gone for at least 1 year before consideration
