RN Transplant Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Oversees and participates in the coordination of care for the pre/post-transplant recipient.
• Oversees and assists the Transplant Manager in supervision of the pre/post-transplant Coordinators, including interviewing, coaching, orientation, evaluation, and training within established guidelines.
• Monitors day-to-day operations of assigned staff, reacting effectively and efficiently to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the department to ensure consistent quality of service.
• Participates on teams, committees, and special projects both internal and external to the organization as requested.
• Maintains a department staffing plan and on-call coverage that meets organizational needs.
• Demonstrates personal and professional growth and expertise; keeps staff updated by remaining current with state and federal associations and professional trends, and by participating in community activities.
• Assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates department goals that align with hospital goals on a yearly basis.
• Develops, reviews, and revises departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Reacts effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the department.

• Previous experience in clinical area of assignment preferred.

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.

• Current Louisiana RN license and CPR certification. Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator with the ABTC.

• Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within the designated probationary period. Demonstrated patient teaching skills and compliance with protocol management of patients. Member of NATCO and UNOS.
