Responsibilities- Customer Service: maintain a positive attitude, apply customer service skills, utilize service recovery processes, treat customers with dignity and respect, identify needs and begin problem solving, interact with patients, families, visitors, and staff to maintain a professional environment, and prioritize first-time right actions.
- Financial Stability: inform supervision of current or anticipated problems, use time and resources effectively, perform tasks with minimal supervision, coordinate with peers and staff, accept and complete assignments promptly, follow time and attendance policies, and monitor compliance issues including fraud and abuse.
- Patient Throughput: keep patients informed and contribute to organizational goals for throughput within the scope of the position.
- Performance Improvement: participate in ongoing education and culture change initiatives, communicate clearly, promote regulatory and accrediting agency compliance, document according to policies, and work collaboratively to improve processes.
- Patient Care: prepare patients for visits, collect and record vitals and relevant information, discuss care plans with physicians, administer treatments as directed, document and submit charges, and ensure room and equipment readiness and cleanliness.
- Communications: relay information between patients, physicians, labs, pharmacies, and other healthcare personnel; document communications in the patient record; manage correspondence and test results.
- Procedures Support: prepare for office procedures, provide privacy and instruction to patients, obtain specimens, complete paperwork, and support post-procedure care as directed.
- Safety & Infection Control: stock and organize treatment areas, monitor supplies, oversee equipment and instruments, report repairs promptly, update health maintenance recommendations, and maintain relevant logs.
- Clerical Clinic Support: participate in clinic preparation, handle equipment, obtain medical records, scan documents into the electronic medical record, answer calls and route them appropriately.
- Additional Duties: perform other duties essential to clinic operations, conduct specialty testing or minor procedures under supervision, screen patients during procedures, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes requiring physician attention.
- Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or 2 years of relevant work experience. - Licenses &
Certifications:
CMA (AAMA) or CMA (NHA) and other required certifications as listed, plus Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers. - Skills:
clinical skills (vital signs, documentation, specimen labeling and transport, medication administration, computer skills), and strong communication and guest relations abilities. - Supervision: this position does not formally supervise employees.
Work Shift:
Days (United States of America).
