Overview

Customer Service and related responsibilities focused on improving patient satisfaction, maintaining a professional environment, and applying LCMC’s service standards. The role emphasizes positive interactions with patients, families, visitors, and staff, and requires adherence to applicable policies and procedures.

• Customer Service: maintain a positive attitude, apply customer service skills, utilize the service recovery process, treat customers with dignity and respect, identify and solve problems promptly, and support a courteous environment.
• Financial Stability: inform supervisor of current or anticipated problems, use time and resources efficiently, perform tasks with minimal supervision, resolve scheduling conflicts, complete assignments timely, and adhere to time and attendance policies; be aware of compliance issues related to fraud and abuse and report immediately.
• Patient Throughput: keep patients informed with periodic updates and contribute to organizational goals within scope of position.
• Performance Improvement: promote and participate in performance improvement initiatives, be receptive to new ideas, communicate clearly, comply with regulatory and accreditation agencies, follow policies and the Code of Conduct, and document work in accordance with policies; work with teams to achieve goals and improve processes.
• Patient Care: prepare patients for visits, collect vital signs and relevant information, document in patient records, obtain tests, discuss plans with physicians, administer treatments and medications per physician orders, and maintain proper technique and documentation; ensure room and equipment readiness and patient privacy.
• Communications: coordinate with patients, pharmacies, hospitals and medical staff; document communications and manage test results, prescriptions, and appointments; prepare patients and rooms for procedures; provide pre- and post-procedure information and care as directed.
• Safety & Infection Control: stock and organize treatment rooms, monitor supplies, manage equipment and instruments, ensure cleaning and maintenance, and report repairs as needed; log quality assurance and fridge temperatures where applicable.
• Clerical Clinic Support: assist with clinic preparation, operate and knowledgeably use equipment, obtain and file medical records, and handle telephone communications promptly.
• Additional Duties: perform other duties as assigned, participate in testing and procedures under supervision, screen patients, monitor vital signs, and recognize when physician attention is required.

  High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, or 2 years of relevant work experience.

  American Association of Medical Assistants – Certified Medical Assistant or National Health career Association – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant - NPCE or American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider or NRCMA; other certifications may be required per protocol.
• Skills and Abilities:
  
  clinical skills (vital signs, documentation, specimen handling, medication administration), and strong communication and guest relations skills.
