Position OverviewThe Assurance Manager – Healthcare will coordinate and oversee assurance engagements while ensuring compliance with reporting and quality control standards. This role requires strong healthcare industry knowledge, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to lead staff, manage multiple priorities, and cultivate strong client relationships. You will play a critical part in maintaining engagement quality and expanding the firm’s presence in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate, organize, and schedule healthcare assurance engagements to ensure timely completion.
- Provide timely feedback to staff to support their development and learning.
- Review full financial statements and disclosures for reporting compliance.
- Review work papers to ensure adherence to the firm’s quality control standards.
- Research complex accounting issues and provide well-supported solutions.
- Plan and manage engagements to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop expert-level knowledge within assigned healthcare niches.
- Support monitoring of deliverable quality and team performance.
- Maintain CPA certification and required CPE hours.
- Assist Partners with special projects as assigned.
- Build new client relationships and expand networks beneficial to the firm.
- Identify opportunities to offer additional services to existing healthcare clients.
- CPA certification required.
- Healthcare industry experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience, including at least 3 years as a senior/in-charge accountant.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed decision-making ability with initiative to act independently.
- Ability to research and analyze technical accounting information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload.
