Requirements- Bachelor's degree in related discipline
- Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
- A credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCAA)
- Have at least 2 years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology (or a combination of both) within the past 5 years
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills necessary to maintain positive, professional interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively to individuals and groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of programmatic accreditation and regulatory standards established by CAAHEP for Surgical Technology programs
- Experience teaching hands on skills to new surgical technologists or students
Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range for this position is $64,158 to $86,802.

These competencies support the university's faculty hiring, evaluation and development processes.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Ability to move about readily and rapidly, if necessary, around campus, classrooms, clinical settings, etc., to access classrooms, desks, students, office machinery, clinics, patients, etc.
- Frequently communicates using spoken language with students, staff and colleagues.
- Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.
- Operate equipment specific to the program track, personal computer, and audio-visual equipment.
- Travel to off-site meetings or conferences or to observe students during clinical education at off-site clinical settings.
- For programs that include a clinical component, all faculty must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; reach by extending hands or arms in any direction; demonstrate finger dexterity; see and hear within normal parameters; lift up to 25 pounds.
