Overview
St. Martin’s Episcopal School, an Episcopal independent school serving students from PK-12 and located in Metairie, LA, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Upper School Math Teacher to join our faculty in August 2026. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about student growth, academic excellence, and innovative teaching.
Responsibilities- Teach Upper School mathematics courses ranging from Algebra I to Calculus, including College Prep, Honors, and AP levels.
- Create a student-centered classroom that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
- Use diverse instructional methods, incorporating technology, inquiry-based learning, and cross-curricular connections.
- Serve as an advisor to 7-10 students, providing mentorship and support.
- Moderate a co-curricular activity, student club, athletic team, or enrichment program to encourage student engagement beyond the classroom.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification (preferred) and at least one year of experience teaching high school or college-level math.
- Interest in coaching a sport (preferred, but not required).
- Strong understanding of student learning styles, differentiation, and educational technology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
