Salary Range: $25.13 - $36.17 per/Hour
Shift Type: Full-Time
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director - Energy Management
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To assure the smooth and efficient operation of all HVAC equipment in order that the students may have a comfortable and safe environment in which to pursue educational goals.
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma GED and /or the following
- Formal or technical training provided by industry
- Two year HVAC/Control Degree from an accredited college or trade school
- CFC certification required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with less than three moving violations within the past three years
- Possess basic knowledge to interpret manufacturer's manual on operation, repair and maintenance
- Be aware of safety precautions used in EM/HVAC environments.
- 3 - 5 years successful experience in HVAC work.
- Responsible to HVAC supervisor under the direction of the Director, Energy Management for job performance.
- Receives and follows through with work orders received from HVAC supervisor.
- Maintain air conditioning equipment.
- Maintain ventilation and air handling equipment.
- Maintain the control mechanisms for EM/HVAC equipment as needed.
- Assist in training an adequate inventory of supplies, materials and tools.
- Operates work vehicle to and from work destinations and accepts responsibilities for proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicle and equipment assigned to use.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:
- When working with electricity, heavy equipment and climbing ladders, scaffolding, including working around machinery with moving parts you must be mentally alert at all times.
- Climbing, kneeling, standing, walking
- Repeated bending and reaching above the shoulders
- Good depth perception due to working at heights on ladders and roofs
- Frequent heavy lifting and carrying of up to 100 lbs.
- Respiratory risks in dealing with filter media and cutting media
- Working in hot or cold environments both inside and outside of facilities.
