Job Description Customer Service
  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom, and one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed.
  • Take special orders from customers by telephone or in person.
Floral Department Operations
  • Order balloons, helium tanks, plants, flowers, related merchandise, accessories, and supplies.
  • Ensure product freshness and selection; monitor and respond to special occasion merchandising requirements, sales trends, seasonal promotions, and customer feedback.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability.
  • Upgrade plants, make bows, inflate balloons, and prepare bouquets.
  • Prepare floral designs to Company standards.
  • Follow and maintain department standards for floral upgrades, balloon upgrades, and candy arrangements.
  • Assist designers and sales employees in completing tasks.
Staff Management
  • Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance.
  • Possess knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
  • Train employees on store policies, sales, and record‑keeping procedures.
  • Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Compliance & Standards
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department.
  • Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure proper pricing and signage.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas, including code date compliance.
Inventory & Financial Control
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Control shrink and costs.
  • Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
Equipment & Receiving
  • Implement correct product preparation techniques.
  • Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire, hot glue guns, spray paint, heat sealing machines, and helium tanks.
  • Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product.
  • Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques.
  • Properly condition and handle all indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Follow proper processing procedures for all cut flowers.
Emergency Procedures
  • Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or computer software malfunctions.
Pay Transparency

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).

Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on‑going basis.


* For roles in Washington State:
Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
