Overview

Position: RN (Registered Nurse) in Surgery Department

As a Pre Op Nurse, you will specialize in caring for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include intraoperative care. This is a per diem position, as needed.

Shift Available: Wednesdays and Fridays

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Hours: Variable, approximately 6 am - 4 pm

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-procedure assessments evaluating medical histories and risks.
• Prepare the operating room, including equipment setup and medication administration.
• Transfer and position patients safely and comfortably.
• Assist healthcare providers during procedures, including preparing local anesthesia or medications.
• Maintain knowledge of peri-operative processes and ensure patient safety throughout.

Qualifications:

Must-have:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

• Critical Care Course completion.
• At least one year of experience as a staff RN in acute or critical care.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
