Registered Nurse PCU

Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (PCU RN) who will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions requiring close monitoring and support. The PCU RN or Step‑Down RN will optimize patient outcomes and facilitate transition to lower levels of care.

Shift: Nights

Employment type: Per Diem

Hours: 12 hr, 7 pm–7 am

• Conduct patient assessments: vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological, respiratory status, and overall stability; monitor changes and respond promptly to deterioration.
• Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to track cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and other parameters; recognize and interpret abnormalities.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians (IV, antibiotics, pain management, cardiac meds) with vigilant monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Perform nursing interventions ordered by physicians: wound care, catheter care, suctioning, oxygen therapy; assist with procedures.
• Document procedures and outcomes in accordance with evidence‑based guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety.

• Current and valid Texas RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care—critical care preferred.

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
