Mold Maintenance Technician Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Mold Maintenance Technician Assistant with experience in plastic injection molding environments. This role supports mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to ensure molds operate safely, efficiently, and meet production quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, understands injection molding processes, and is eager to learn and grow within a manufacturing setting.

• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molds
• Support mold tear-downs, cleaning, inspections, and reassembly
• Identify wear, damage, or defects in molds and report findings to senior technicians
• Assist with mold changes, setups, and production start-ups
• Maintain proper mold documentation and maintenance records
• Safely handle molds, components, and tooling using proper lifting and rigging practices
• Support troubleshooting of molding-related issues affecting part quality or cycle time
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Previous experience in plastic injection molding or mold maintenance preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with mold components (cores, cavities, hot runners, ejector systems) is a plus
• Ability to read basic blueprints or mold drawings preferred
• Willingness to learn and work under the direction of experienced mold technicians
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and plastic materials
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed
• Standing, bending, and working with hand tools for extended periods
• Use of PPE as required
