Position Summary:
The Talent Development Supervisor is a strategic training partner to leaders across Knight-Swift Warehousing & Fulfillment, aligning development solutions with operational priorities, workforce needs, and business objectives. This role delivers high-impact instructor-led (ILT) and virtual instructor-led (vILT) training while providing governance, quality, and oversight for training across the organization.
Partnering closely with leaders, the Supervisor identifies skill gaps, prioritizes training needs, and translates business challenges into targeted development solutions. The role balances hands-on facilitation with people leadership by supervising the Operations Training Coordinator, managing training requests and scheduling through Hub Spot, and establishing audit and quality assurance practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
The Talent Development Supervisor plays a key role in building leadership capability, supporting career growth, and ensuring training programs are scalable, auditable, and aligned with enterprise priorities across Hayes/Knight-Swift Warehousing & Fulfillment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates ILT and vILT courses on leadership, communication, conflict resolution, coaching, and other professional development topics for associates, supervisors, and managers.
- Adapts facilitation approach to meet diverse learner needs across in-person and virtual environments.
- Provides direct supervision, coaching, and development support to the Operations Training Coordinator.
- Sets priorities, provides direction, and ensures alignment between operational training coordination and broader talent development initiatives.
- Coaches Coordinator on facilitation readiness, communication, and professional growth, supporting development toward expanded training responsibilities.
- Establishes facilitation and delivery standards and ensures consistent application across programs and audiences to maintain engagement, quality, and cultural alignment.
- Owns and manages the training request process using Hub Spot, ensuring visibility, prioritization, and timely execution.
- Oversees training calendars, facilitator assignments, and logistical planning across locations in partnership with Site/Department leaders.
- Designs, implements, and maintains training audit structures and processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and effectiveness.
- Conducts regular audits of training delivery, documentation, and completion records.
- Analyzes training data, feedback, and outcomes to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and presents insights to Talent Development leadership.
- Partners with Talent Development team members and Site and Department Leaders to assess skill gaps and customize training solutions that support career development pathways.
- Conducts needs assessments and provides recommendations for additional training or development opportunities based on observations, data, and stakeholder feedback.
- Partners with the Instructional Designer to support the development and enhancement of ILT and vILT content and provides feedback to inform future learning design and resources.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, coaching participants on applying learned skills in real-world operational and leadership scenarios.
- Supports the development and continuous improvement of training materials, facilitator guides, playbooks, and digital learning resources.
- Tracks attendance, completion, and assessment results through the company’s Talent Development System (TDS).
- Stays current with adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and trends in leadership and soft-skills training to enhance program delivery.
