About the RoleThe City of Balch Springs is currently hiring two (2) finance professionals. Based on qualifications, education, and experience, selected candidates will be placed into one of the following roles:
Financial Process Specialist
Financial Process Specialist I or Financial Process Specialist II
These positions support the City’s financial operations by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Financial Process SpecialistThe Financial Process Specialist supports financial processes related to project accounting, grants accounting, and budget tracking. This role assists in monitoring the financial components of projects, supporting grant compliance, and collaborating with internal teams to promote strong budget management practices. The position focuses on daily financial operations, process support, and continuous improvement.
Financial Process Specialist I or II (Level determined based on qualifications)The Financial Process Specialist I or II performs accounting functions across multiple areas of the Finance Department. Responsibilities may include processing and reconciling financial transactions, preparing financial documents and reports, and supporting internal and external accounts. Depending on assignment and experience, this role may specialize in areas such as:
- Travel and procurement
- Accounts receivable and payable
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Expense or cash management
- Taxes and fixed assets
- General ledger support and reconciliations
Job Requirements (Financial Process Specialist and Financial Process Specialist II)
- 1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 2. At least two (2) years equivalent work experience in financial analysis, accounting or related roles.
- 3. A valid Texas driver’s license.
Job Requirements (Financial Specialist I)
- 1. Associate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 2. At least two years of related experience.
- 3. A valid driver’s license.
