Infant/Toddler Teacher

Child Care Group  is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team. The teacher will serve as a team member in an assigned staff group and plan and implement programs for infants and toddlers in compliance with Child Care Group  standards, Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria and local and state licensing standards.

• Manages the classroom environment.
• Shares responsibility of setting up the room for daily activities.
• Provides attractive and functional learning centers.
• Assists in planning, preparation and implementation of work appropriate to the development level based on RC 3; includes developing curriculum, completing child assessments, maintaining records, etc.
• Understands the routine of each classroom.
• Develops good relations with children and their families.
• Serves as a team member in the assigned classroom.
• Acquires knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System and/or Redelearner Database within the introductory period of employment.
• Receives training directly or through the Database Training Department of Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc.
• Works under supervision of the Early Childhood Center Manager and/or Children’s Program Coordinator with indirect supervision from the Lead Teacher.
• Participates in parent meetings and parent conferences.
• Assists in the inventory of and request for equipment and supplies.
• Participates in the entry process of a child into the care‑giving group.
• Complies with all Child Care Group  policies and procedures, including EEO/Affirmative Action, ADA, Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Solicitation and Safety.
• Assumes responsibility for the daily classroom program in the Lead Teacher’s absence.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate’s degree in child development or related field required.
• One-year experience working with young children required.
• Demonstrates desire to work with young children and general knowledge of normal growth and development.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers.
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Regular and prompt attendance required.

• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Driving record must comply with Child Care Group ’s automobile insurance carrier requirements.
• Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation.
• Ability to travel locally or out of town as required.
• Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable.
• Must submit to and successfully pass all required Child Care Group  and Partner Program background checks throughout employment, including FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks.
