Engineering Plumber - Cb & Vr Day Shift

Position: ENGINEERING PLUMBER - CB & VR - FULL-TIME - DAY SHIFT
STARTING RATE: $30.00

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's License and DMV Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old).

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances, by diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, responding to emergency calls, and ensuring the smooth operation of plumbing systems for all Mesquite Gaming properties, while maintaining guest comfort and satisfaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Nevada Plumbing License or minimum eight (8) years experience of general plumbing maintenance required. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and work independently. Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Must be able to follow directions and work independently. Must have effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance.

Replace or repair with specific parts for individual problems.

Moving materials and equipment to specified locations throughout the property.

Completing paperwork, as necessary.

Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings when necessary.

Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.

Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.

Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.

Hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.

Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing, or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.

Strictly adhere to all departmental, company, and governmental rules, regulations and policies with specific attention to safety and environmental concerns.

Maintain a constant awareness of safety problems and report unsafe conditions and exposure of shift supervisor.

Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work in undesirable conditions including extreme heat (exceeding 120 degrees) cold, wind and rain. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, glasses, hard hats, gloves and boots.

Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
