Responsibilities
Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.Properly operate kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.Be familiar with store layout to locate products for customers.Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers with logs.Create a welcoming environment for customers and foster trust among staff.Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.Adhere to safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents promptly.Work effectively in high-paced, stressful environments.Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
- Customer service skills

- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handler's permit upon employment
