CDL Drivers- Class A; Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement

Position purpose: CDL Drivers must hold a valid CDL driver license. CDL Drivers work as part of a crew and at times may also operate equipment or provide general labor. Tanker and Haz Mat Endorsement required or obtainable.

• Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, screeds, rollers, pavers, paving finishing machines, paving curbing machines and front end loaders to apply asphalt products according to job specifications.
• Know, understand and comply with all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). state/local regulations.
• Ensure the vehicle is road-worthy prior to leaving the yard or jobsite and coordinate repairs with mechanics as needed.
• Inspect truck and trailer before and after trips and complete DVIRs to ensure compliance with laws.
• Log driving hours as required by state, federal and local laws.
• Participate in job-site and safety meetings and Company training.
• Maintain clear communication with the paver operator, truck drivers and laborers.
• May operate trucks to transport equipment and assist in maintaining equipment.
• Inspect, clean and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Set up and tear down equipment as needed and maintain a clean job site.
• Provide excellent service to customers and the public as a front-line company representative.
• Use hand tools and equipment as required and perform other general labor as needed.

• Education:
  
  a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience:
  
  six months to one year related experience is preferred.
• FMCSA English proficiency requirements under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2) and the ability to read and speak English, understand highway signs, respond to official inquiries, and make required entries on reports. All 10K-CMV and CDL drivers will be required to complete and pass an English proficiency assessment.
• Certifications/Licenses: current Class A CDL license in the state where the majority of work is performed;
  Hazmat or tanker endorsement may be required depending on position; ability to pass DOT physical and maintain a current medical card; pass DOT drug test and safety road test; clean motor-vehicle record; pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
