F-16 MTT Software Engineer

Trident Military Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to support Air National Guard (ANG) F‑16 Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) simulators in Mesa, AZ. The individual's primary responsibility will be to design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that support the F‑16 MTT simulators, especially related to the F‑16 MTT Operational Flight Program (OFP) and Center Display Unit (CDU).

Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for F‑16 MTT simulator software.

Compensation: $120K to $145K

Location:

Mesa, AZ

Required Travel: 0 – 10 %

• Develop software using C, C#, or C++.
• Develop software for VxWorks.
• Implement and support APIs between internal and external system components.
• Apply Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and processes.
• Utilize debugging and analysis tools.
• Prepare and present findings and recommendations to organization leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8+ years relevant experience without a degree is acceptable.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Experience researching new technologies to help solve existing technical problems or shortfalls.
• Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+)
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to upgrade to Special Access Program / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR).
• MUST BE A US CITIZEN.

• Experience with distributed simulation software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications.
• Experience developing software that produces and consumes distributed simulation protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA).
• Experience developing real‑time simulation software.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Git Extensions.
• Experience in the DoD simulator community.
• Experience supporting SAP efforts.
