Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $26.73 - $40.10/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling systems, starting/alternator, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components on trucks.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment and systems, including brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and related components.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, air conditioning, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose and repair trailer equipment and systems, including brakes, air lines, liftgates, welding, fabrication, and bodywork as needed.
- Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
- Independently manage parts inventory and operate a company-issued service truck; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve issues.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations.
- Utilize hand tools, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
- Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using an iOS device and TRAIT application; complete DOT forms and other documentation timely.
- Work with a high degree of independence and maintain productivity within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary.
- Coordinate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and purchase order numbers; discuss RO findings as needed.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Maintain company-issued service truck and conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience. Alternative combinations such as higher-level degree/certification or 5 years’ related experience may be considered.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
- Must comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations; able to pass a pre-employment DOT background screening and DOT physical.
- DOT medical card or ability to obtain one; if the card has four months or less remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
- Safe driving record required; valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.
