The Inspections Technician will be responsible for inspecting installations and meeting with inspectors to ensure installations are to code.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Review pictures and gather all necessary parts to complete inspection on site
- Site inspections that require minimal cleanup work
- Verify labeling and placards are up to code for inspection
- Call AHJ to confirm inspection time frame in the AM
- Set up and tie off ladders for the city/county inspectors
- Rivet placards
- Open electrical panels & junction boxes so the inspector can observe inside
- Maintain safety of self and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions, promptly reporting and/or correcting hazards or unsafe conditions, questioning non‑standard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to Branch Manager on all safety issues
- Take notes for corrections and notify Branch Manager of any issues or updates
- Keep inspection vehicle stocked with necessary materials
- Service solar panel systems when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent
- Preferred 1+ years of experience in a related field
- Required licenses for each market
- Ability to read electrical plans and field layouts
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer‑service skills
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Motivated, detail‑oriented, and safety‑focused
- Able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, climb ladders/stairs, and work on rooftops for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and teamwork skills
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Frequent hand use to handle tools, controls, and small objects
- Prolonged standing, walking, or running
- Climbing ladders or scaffolding
- Bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
- Repetitive motions
- Near‑vision detail and peripheral vision; ability to judge distance and distinguish colors
- Quick reactions and precise manual adjustments
- Steady hand/arm control and coordinated movement of multiple limbs
- Core strength for sustained physical support and balance in unstable positions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Employee is required to travel for business purposes, not including commute to and from work. If required to travel, must have a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites. Up to 100% travel (e.g., daily).
