Pet Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

• Successful completion of Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
• Manage the pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Check-in and check-out procedures.
• Independently perform full bath and brush services and standalone services (nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per Pet Smart’s bathing standards.
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet’s needs.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take action when a sick/injured pet is identified; transport to vet as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain store cleanliness standards.
• Assist in other departments as required; other duties may be assigned.

• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder; use hands to handle, feel, hold, write; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; depth perception; reasonable accommodations available.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently; may move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• Exposure to moving parts, wet environment with pet hair; moderate to high noise levels; exposure to live animals.
