Medical Lead Veterinarian – Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital

We are looking for a Medical Lead Veterinarian to join Augusta Ranch Animal Hospital, a practice committed to the highest standards of compassionate care since 2005. With a 4.7‑star Google rating and a Gold‑level Cat Friendly Certified® Practice designation, we offer comprehensive small‑animal medicine, including wellness, diagnostics, advanced care, complex surgery, and urgent care for the Mesa community.

In partnership with Mission Pet Health, part of Arizona Healthy Pet Hospitals, you will lead medical excellence, mentor associate veterinarians, collaborate with the Practice Manager, and drive continuous improvement of patient care and client service.

Your Impact as a Medical Lead Veterinarian
  • Lead and mentor your DVM team: manage associate veterinarians, conduct performance discussions, coach development goals, and foster teamwork and retention.
  • Role model medical excellence: set the example for quality medicine, client service, and efficiency, while practicing as an associate and achieving personal production goals.
  • Drive hospital performance: help develop the annual operating plan, manage financial performance toward an EBITDA goal, and ensure compliance with medical and DEA regulations.
  • Foster a culture of growth: lead monthly doctor meetings, supervise externship and mentorship programs, and champion a culture of recruitment.
  • Be an ambassador: represent the hospital and Mission Pet Health through community engagement at schools, universities, and local events.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a valid state license in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of practical clinical experience.
  • A servant‑leadership mentality with a commitment to our core values and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An understanding of or willingness to learn the financial and operational management of a hospital.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, etc.).
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to be part of a progressive, growth‑oriented culture.
