Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct preoperative assessments and patient interviews, and prepare patients for vascular surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients’ condition post‑surgery in the PACU unit, providing appropriate care and medications as instructed by the surgeon.
- Circulate within the operating room to assist the surgical team, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies Interessens are available and in working order.
- Implement and monitor patient care standards and procedures to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement postoperative care plans.
- Maintain detailed records of patient care and progress, adhering to privacy and health records regulations.
- Advise patients and families on postoperative care, potential side effects, and recovery expectations.
- Ensure the cleanliness, sterilization, and readiness of the OR and recovery rooms.
- Participate in continuous education and training to remain current with the latest practices and technologies in vascular nursing care.
- Handle and resolve any complications that arise in a calm, professional, and effective manner.
- Current and valid RN license with a focus on surgical nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in preoperative, PACU, or circulating roles within an OR setting.
- Exceptional clinical skills and knowledge of sterilization techniques and OR protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and _skills for interactions with patients, family, and staff.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain before hire.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of ethical medical care.
- Familiarity with vascular surgery practices and procedures preferred.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and the ability to act decisively in emergency situations.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals.
