The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. With more than 50 years of assisting American Indian tribes, Alaska Native villages and corporations, and Native-owned businesses, the National Center has evolved into the largest national Indian-specific business organization in the country.
Who we serveThe organization serves over 1,000 clients that secure over $4 billion in contracts on an annual basis. The key focus areas of the National Center are federal advocacy, economic development assistance for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian-owned businesses, increasing access to capital in Indian Country, and developing training and educational events, including the annual Reservation Economic Summit (RES). The National Center has ten offices throughout the United States, with a home office located in Mesa, Arizona.

Job Summary - What's special about this role?
The Fundraising Associate supports fundraising efforts with a primary focus on new donor acquisition. This role requires substantive experience to execute complex tasks without close supervision. Responsibilities center on implementing established fundraising strategies while providing feedback on strategic direction.
What will NCAIED's Fundraising Associate do? Essential responsibilities include- Cold calls to foundations and prospective donors (with strong guidance)
- Input on strategy for foundation and individual donor acquisition
- Moves management tracking (data entry with very little supervision)
- Assessing foundations for fit
- Assisting with other fundraising campaigns on an ad hoc basis
- Collaborate with the Director of Special Projects on outreach strategy and messaging
- Fundraising experience with private foundations and high wealth individuals, specifically with reaching new funders for donor acquisition
- National nonprofit experience (not regional or local, this is essential)
- Experience with early-stage fundraising for a mature organization (we are in the building phase – not stepping into existing structure.)
- Proactive
- Sensitive to NCAIED culture and mission
- Experience with fundraising on behalf of any historically underserved populations
- Strong CRM/database experience - Little Green Light experience is a bonus
- Flexible to work within all time zones
- Ability to handle rejection
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or significant experience.
