Energetic Assembler

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber am munitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

What you will do as an Energetic Assembler
  • Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection measurement equipment in a production environment.
  • Regularly handles hazardous and non-hazardous materials as part of the manufacturing process. (i.e.

    - Solvents, explosives, etc.)
  • Work requires the ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process Specifications (PS) to operate and set up machinery and related systems.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring the safe processing of products that meet customer and NDS quality requirements in accordance with time standards for his/her assigned area of production.
  • Performs general daily housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and area to ensure a safe working condition for all employees.
  • Performs general maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Able to recognize and report all operational variances as trained.
  • Must display competent dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.
  • Weekend overtime may be required.
  • Performs minor set-up for specific equipment when required.
  • Must be able to wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (safety eyewear, FR coat and pants, conductive shoes and full-face air purifying respirator as required)
What you need to qualify as an Energetic Assembler
  • Experience in Aerospace, Energetic or Manufacturing Assembly
  • 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
  • Ability to walk / stand 80% of the time.
  • Able to lift 5 lbs. constantly, 25 lbs. occasionally, and 50 lbs. infrequently. Above 50 lbs. with a team lift.
  • Must have the ability to understand and speak English, as well as read and write in English.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ATF Possessor license.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug test
