Position SummaryThe Lead Operator will be responsible for coordinating the flow of products and materials to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. This role involves handling production processes, assisting operators, and ensuring efficiency in material movement while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Pay$20-$23/hour (DOE)
Schedule- Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday 5am-5pm
- Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday 5pm-5am +$1.50 night shift differential
- Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday 5pm-5am +$1.50 night shift differential
- Coordinate the flow of products and materials to meet production needs and reduce downtime
- Load hoppers and ensure machines have necessary materials
- Pull completed assemblies from machine output and transfer to appropriate designated areas
- Clear simple tool or machine errors as authorized by Engineering; elevate all other issues to the supervisor and maintenance team
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of material movements, if applicable
- Coordinate the flow of personnel to ensure all tools/stations are covered with an operator
- Organize and cover breaks to ensure continued production without disruption
- Provide day-to-day guidance to production operators and act as the first point of contact for questions or concerns
- Provide on-the-job training and instruction to new or reassigned employees
- Monitor attendance and productivity issues and elevate more serious concerns to the Production Supervisor
- Serve as a liaison between production operators and the Production Supervisor
- Report ongoing issues, downtime, or production concerns to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner
- Maintain open communication with maintenance, quality, and other departments as needed to ensure production flow
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
- Ability to identify and resolve minor technical or personnel issues and escalate when appropriate
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 50lbs and stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Good problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
