The OpportunityThe Machine Operator is responsible for the proper and safe operation of various processing and packaging machinery while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. The operator follows all company process procedures and works closely with the Production Manager and Production Lead during shifts.
Machine Operations- Operate processing and packaging equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain operation flow by monitoring lines and shifting material or finished product as necessary.
- Perform change‑overs on equipment, labelers, and date coders following procedures.
- Set up equipment at startup and perform necessary adjustments throughout the shift.
- Continuously check labels, seals, net weights, and date placement to ensure accuracy according to the specification sheet.
- Receive and inspect raw materials to verify labeling, storage, and quality specifications.
- Ensure proper segregation, storage, and handling to prevent cross‑contamination using dedicated equipment and clean environments.
- Notify QA Technician or Production Lead of process checks and sample readiness.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, and FDA/USDA compliance at all times.
- Prevent contamination by maintaining equipment and ingredient cleanliness.
- Notify QA Technician of any batch quality, equipment performance, or ingredient inconsistency issues; notify Production Lead or Maintenance Technician when necessary.
- Perform routine operator maintenance such as cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and calibrating equipment.
- Monitor for signs of malfunction and take appropriate actions, including troubleshooting or escalating to maintenance teams.
- Report mechanical or operational issues to Production Lead or Maintenance Technician.
- Maintain accurate records of ingredient batch/lot information and deviations for traceability.
- Document batch/lot records, BOM, and production logs to support compliance and potential audits.
- Maintain detailed records of downtime and machine operations; complete all documentation and reports daily.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulatory guidelines.
- Work closely with Production Lead, Production Manager, QA teams, and Maintenance Teams to ensure smooth operations and meet production targets.
- Report difficulties or opportunities for improvement to management for further optimization.
- Assist in training new or junior operators on equipment, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and commitment to production goals.
- Adapt to new processes or tasks and follow safety awareness protocols.
Education and Experience
- Education:
