** Sunday-Thursday 6am-2pm
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to help the Caregivers assist with daily functions of the residents and to provide a broad range of support services to ensure these residents have the best quality of life possible during their stay here. This is an entry-level position designed for training while an individual is working to obtain his or her Caregiver certification.
This position will be under the direct supervision of a Certified Caregiver at all times.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/ or ability required. Job Duties:
All tasks assigned to an Assistant Caregiver will be under the supervision of the Certified Caregivers on duty, the Director of Health Services (DHS) and the Executive Director. - Complete daily work assignments as given by the Med Tech or DHS. - Help residents with showers, dressing and other ADLs as directed. - Perform light housekeeping for residents as necessary. - Spend any downtime interacting with residents, either by participating in an activity or visiting one on one in their apartments.
- Perform basic housekeeping in cottage, shower area and other public places in the building as directed.
- Assist in resident meal preparation and clean up as directed. - Report any issues with residents or fellow Team Members to your DHS. - Ability to work harmoniously with peers, and to deal respectfully with residents, their family members and visitors. - Direct questions from outside persons (doctors, family members, etc) to Certified Caregivers on duty, the DHS and the Executive Director - Report verbally and in writing on individual resident’s abilities and potential changes to the service needs.
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure a safe working environment is maintained. This includes reporting safety hazards promptly. - Present oneself in a professional manner.
