Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers continuously connected to the services they rely on. The role is to join a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and managers to deliver the highest safety, security, and capacity standards while fostering an inclusive culture.
ResponsibilitiesThe ACx Commissioning Engineer (CxE) oversees and coordinates multi-discipline work related to design review and commissioning of critical Amazon infrastructure for new construction and special projects. Key tasks include supporting vendors and contractors, providing multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design, and planning; developing and reviewing electrical and mechanical test plans; ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety practices;
conducting continuous auditing of commissioning activities; and reporting status, lessons learned, and program improvements on a weekly basis to the ACx Regional Manager and ACx team.

- Lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more

- Work shifts longer than eight hours with potential night and weekend work
- Perform physical tasks throughout the day without becoming overly tired
- Ability to manipulate small wires and objects easily
- Work in a noisy environment
- Work in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment
Job Requirements
- Ability to relocate to Phoenix area
- Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally up to 50% of the year
- Required to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed
- U.S. Citizenship Required

Basic Qualifications- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil and gas)
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
