MP&P Engineer 3 – Mesa, AZ
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an MP&P Engineer 3 to join our Materials and Processes Technologies (MPT) Department. The role involves non‑destructive inspection of composites and metals for aerospace programs.
Position Responsibilities- Review and interpret ultrasonic inspection results.
- Design reference standards for inspections.
- Develop NDT inspection plans and sequencing.
- Qualify NDT inspection equipment and materials.
- Interface with engineering teams to align inspection requirements and feasibility.
- Support root cause and corrective action for NDT‑related MRB.
- Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Promote standardization across business activities.
- Design, develop, and qualify computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into processes and labs.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- 3+ years of experience in nondestructive evaluation.
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASNT Level 2 or 3 certification in ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, penetrant, or eddy current inspection.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to convey technical material to all levels.
- Functional knowledge of ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant, eddy current, and radiographic inspection instruments and software.
- Experience with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, computed tomography, and/or ultrasonic phased array.
- Experience working in an engineering or scientific lab; reading drawings and using Microsoft Office.
Advanced technical education from an accredited course of study (e.g., Bachelor’s) and five or more years of related work experience (e.g., PhD, Master’+3 years). ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
